Rock Cycle Journey
Students will discover the types of rocks that compose the Earth’s surface and compare the types of changes that affect the surface of the Earth. The focus of this Journey includes:
- Explore differences between the Earth’s crust, mantle, and core.
- Investigate the formation of igneous, sedimentary, and metamorphic rocks.
- Model how different types of rocks are formed.
- Categorize changes in the Earth’s surface, such as weathering, erosion, and rock formation, as slow or rapid processes.
- Discover how rocks and minerals are transformed from one form to another in the rock cycle.
