Performance Assessment
PERFORMANCE ASSESSMENT FOCUS
Within the CELL, this Performance Assessment is designed to:
- allow students to utilize their knowledge of heat transfer, and insulators and conductors as they design a fish tank that is required to maintain a certain water temperature.
- encourage students to apply their knowledge of heat transfer, factors which affect the rate of heat transfer, conductors and insulators, and endothermic and exothermic processes as they design and test their models.
- promote problem-solving skills by encouraging students to find appropriate solutions to problems.
- assess students’ understanding of heat transfer and factors which affect heat transfer.
- assess students’ understanding of insulators and conductors.
- assess students’ understanding of endothermic and exothermic processes.
- assess students’ understanding of evaporative cooling, conduction, convection and radiation.
