► Investigation Three Summary – Lab Goals
In Investigation Three, you neutralized solutions of an acid using two different bases. During this Investigation, you:
1. Neutralized a solution of hydrochloric acid using an antacid medication, which is considered a base.
2. Neutralized a solution of hydrochloric acid (HCl) using 150 ml solution of sodium hydroxide (NaOH) in increments of 10 ml.
3. Measured the pH of the HCl solution each time 10 ml of NaOH solution was added.
► Investigation Three Summary – Learning Goals
Through these experiments, you concluded that:
1. When an acid and a base react, H+ ions and OH─ ions react to produce water and decrease the concentration of H+ ions.
