Phase 2 – Dynamic Understanding

Investigation Four Summary – Lab Goals

In Investigation Four, you learned that certain plant pigments are required for photosynthesis. During this Investigation, you:

1. Used iodine to identify the location of starch (sugar product of photosynthesis) in a coleus plant.

Investigation Four Summary – Learning Goals

Through these experiments, you concluded that:

1. Photosynthesis takes place in the chloroplasts, the parts of the leaves which contain chlorophyll, often indicated by their green color.

2. The green pigment chlorophyll is required for photosynthesis.
