- How are the atomic numbers of the elements arranged on the Periodic Table of the Elements? The atomic numbers increase from left to right on the Chart.
- How many elements are in Period 1 of the Periodic Table? Period 1 has two elements: hydrogen (H) and helium (He).
- What is the name and symbol of the element in Group 9 and Period 4? Cobalt is in Group 9 and Period 4. Its symbol is “Co”.
- What is the atomic mass of oxygen (O)? The atomic mass of oxygen (O) is 15.999.
- What is the atomic number of hydrogen (H)? The atomic number of hydrogen (H) is 1.
- Where would you expect to find metals on the Periodic Table? Where would you find nonmetals? Metals should be found on the left side of the Periodic Table. Nonmetals should be found on the right side of the table.
