LabLearner Curriculum:
A Spiraling Progression of Fundamental Scientific Concepts
The LabLearner curriculum was written around basic scientific concepts. These concepts were identified after careful research and focus group work with classroom teachers, practicing curriculum developers, and practicing scientists in all the basic scientific disciplines.
Over 60 CELLs (Core Experience Learning Labs) are strategically inserted throughout the PreK-8 educational experience. At each grade level, developmental and academic skills are accounted for. These skills range from mathematical, reading, writing, critical thinking, and fine motor skills, among others.
In addition, LabLearner CELLs have been designed so that essential scientific themes spiral throughout the curriculum from PreK through eighth grade, taking into account the neurocognitive processing mechanisms of elementary and middle school students, while remaining perfectly correlated with academic standards.
The matrix below shows the sequence of CELLs for each grade. Reviewing the matrix is a great way to see which CELLs students have performed or will perform. Internet resources that correlate to the concepts in each CELL can be accessed at our LabLearnerLinks site. For an overview of each CELL simply click on the CELL of interest in the Curriculum Matrix below.
LabLearner aligns with all Common Core State Standards (CCSS)! Read more here.
